I have a large black overcoat which I love dearly, you know the sort of thing, looks like you should be carrying a shotgun inside it. Unfortunately I also have a white cat!!!

I've now got to the stage where I'm fed up of using the sticky roller thingy because I'm sure there must be a better way. Any ideas please.

Being a nice kind of chap, concrete shoes on kitty is not an option.

I have a similar problem with my PH fleece and 2 cats (ginger and grey) and I just use sellotape. Would like to hear of another option too

I concur, this is a serious problem. I usually wear a fleece for work but it's getting too furry and it doesnt come off in the washing machine.

I wonder if some sort of electrostatic device could be used to attract all the fur off the jacket / fleece.

A nice white fur scarf would go lovely with that jacket.

Nice lateral thinking there C2.

I did try the roller on the cat. Took us both a while to recover

Cat fur seems magically attracted to dark coats and the like, even if the cat has no physical contact with the cat. It's a real problem

I agree. Took my freshly cleaned dark grey suit out of the plastic bag thing the dry-cleaners put them in for a wedding on Saturday, and the static caused was enough to attract cat hairs from everywhere.

Shaving the cat gets my vote

In fact, why not go 1 step further and make a white cat fur coat?

I find that those clothes brushes that are like velvet and collect fluff if brushed one way and deposit it the other are better than sticky rollers.

Good Idea It would solve the original problem and would be warm too. I wonder if I could find someone to weave cat fur into a jumper...

My GF bought a product that looks like a hair brush but instead of spines it has a red fabric.
When you rub it one way it is rough and grippy, the other way is smooth.
If you run it rough ways on clothes it picks up all the cat fur, then you just run your hand over the other way to gather them up to stick in the bin.
Genius, don't know where she got it though, sorry.

Yep, that's the one I was on about. Reckon I got mine either somewhere like Timpsons, or it might even have been Tescos. 2 or 3 quid IIRC
