According to the front of the Daily Torygraph this morning the South East will suffer front severe water rationing this summer unless we get a lot more rain by April.
I can sell you some from the well in my garden

Its also got something to do with ocotgenarians with rather too much time on their hands.

Chap two doors down from me was watering his turf 4 times a day in the summer.

Is this going to spark off a turf war?

If there's a hosepipe ban you should grass on him.

yes the pipes leak and some people waste water but it would not be a problem if there was the usual amount of rain.

You can turn that on it's head, if the pipe system was/had been properly maintained less than average rainfall wouldn't be a problem.

We've got used to the luxury (in global terms) of having freely (well you pay through the nose for it but you know what I mean) available water...

If lots of people weren't using dishwashers, having regular baths instead of showers, leaving taps running, using powershowers etc, there wouldn't be a problem.

Anyway, I hope you run out of water, up here in the NW we have plenty

I thought having a shower used significantly less water than having a bath?

That's because the tight wads won't pay for inside toilets innit!

Question - if you pay your water rates on an unlimited supply basis and you are restricted in using water by a hosepipe ban, will you get a part refund then?
I look forward to my refund

There's been a full hose pipe ban in place since last spring here and it has recently been made a permanent hose pipe ban.

And we are paying £700 a year in water rates for errr ....not much really!

I may have a garden hose and sprinkler system and pressure washer for sale soon!

Most of the major resevoirs in SE England (Bewl Water in paerticular)a re at about 1/3 capacity at the moment due to the drought we have had here for the last 2 years.

And anyway, us Southerners know the main reason there is plenty of water oooop North. It's cos you don't wash!
