What can a reasonable sized Tractor with front loader lift in terms of tonnage?

Also, is there a Farm heads, Cow dung matters!! type forum? I have some big concrete blocks that would be perfect to keep pikies out of fields with.. and they are going for free!

Thanks

Tractor and Loader will handle from 1 - 1.5 tonnes according to loader and tractor rating.

Telescopic handlers will usually handle 2.5 tonnes.

A decent 4wd tractor with a good loader will lift 2 tons - most are around 1.25 -1.5 tons, and the sort of things you see on ebay (bought by hobby/equestrian types) will struggle to lift a ton safely. Make sure you have decent front tyres and a weight on the back end.

Does a big fertilizer bag weigh a ton? If so then 2 tons. (just stay off the brakes in 4wd)

Fertilizer big bags are predominately 500 or 600kg.
Some one tonne bags available, but very few farm machines can handle 4 of them at once!
Our machine is rated at 2.6 tonnes and 4 x 600kg bags makes life interesting when lifting to height with the boom extended ;-)

Dave, assuming you are a dairy farmer, would you mind if I emailed you a couple of questions about your industry. I'm about to import a product which is aimed a human healthcare but I think may have huge benefits in your sector.

Ted, not breaking any rules here am I?
