As we all had to endure the -18c over Christmas, we should now be well prepared for the Russian -30c weather thats on its way next week.

Weather forecasters.

I'm off to Sweden on business next week

I think this story is all to do with the Daily Express - so don't panic too much

I'm typing this from my company's office in central Moscow. Was out last night in Red Square and it was -32.

I have to say it was deeply unpleasant and the snot in my nose froze.

I'm off to Moscow next week on saturday, hope it's warmed up a bit by then. We were supposed to be going skiing with my wife's brother on Sunday.

It was tongue in cheek, utd's.

It's what we were supposed to receive but it never materialised, thankfully.

I always reckon 10 to -10 is comfortable and below -10 its just fecking cold. Hard to determine different degrees of really coldness.

Although I did walk from my flat to the Bolshoi one night without a hat and gloves (on the basis it wasn't very far, but it was in fact a 20 minute walk) when it was -25 and it was definitely one of the stupidest things I have ever done.

I'd like it to be cold, crisp and dry, the damp, mild, drizzly weather around now is horrible.

I'd say down to -15 or maybe -20 is okay but below that it's a bit too chilly. If you're wearing jeans they freeze!

Being English I did go out without a hat and gloves to begin with - argh - bad idea. You soon learn that, no matter how silly you think you look, it's best to wear a hat.

True, I don't have a problem with anything below -10, thats just where I start to nitice that it is actually pretty cold.

Hats and gloves are essential though.

I somehow don't think we'll be having a Russian Winter in the UK any time soon though

its ok - my sleeping bag goes down to -35

And tbh the country will grind to a halt when it goes below 0 so we'll all have days of work - or in my case days off not doing anything.

Two inches?

1/2 an inch does that.
