What is it with these Germans and their 80's hair styles?

Changed since his Wimbledon days.

He's nicked your car keys and put them on his collar.
Lovely dog.

Nah, with that mass of blonde hair he must be named after Boris Johnson

Does he take a lot of looking after? Does he loose much?

No and yes.
When he gets dirty you just let him dry off and the dirt falls off. The coat is dry
so there is no oil for the dirst to stick to. No doggy smell either!

He does loose a bit of hair though
Honestly you could knit with it, he sheds so much (its just like angorra wool)
Needs brushing once a week, and a bath every 4 - 6 months.

Some people do make clothes / rugs etc out of samoyed fur, it was one of the things they were bred for.

Although there must have been a serious shift in the breed for these UTTERLY friendly creatures to be used as hunting dogs in times past.

I had a Lada called Boris. I proposed to the wife in it, on the top floor of Broad Marsh Centre car park in 1985.

He doesn't eat anybody. He's far too friendly for that. Really, very soft indeed, unless
you make a threatening gesture to one of my kids (or any other child for that matter)
then he gets rather upset. I would not want to be on the wrong side of Boris (or any other Samoyed)
when he gets upset.

Here's one last picture..

Better get training, then. At least silver badge in traffic warden chewing. Go for gold, with full digestion, after about a year.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.........stop that, dammit

Wouldnt 'Fleegle' have been a more appropriate name?

Wikipedia entry on samoyeds.

Damn cute arent they?

The only thing I ever query is every reference on the breed claims they are intelligent, where mine appear to have the intelligence common to most houseplants

I must say that Boris is really very clever. He has taught himself to open doors (even latched ones!)
and he has a wide vocabulary. He can play football, and he loves cricket, when he even knows the ball has to be hitbefore he can catch it.
He can be a bit daft when it comes to chasing squirrels, but thats about it.
Oh, and he's only two!

Thought you meant Wayne Rooney, until the last line....
