1989 when I met the current MRs I was that size, couldn't even move my neck it went straight from my ears to the ends of my shoulders. My neck and biceps are still bigger than tysons, but I have lost my definition and I want it back.I must have lost a couple of stone off my thighs and calves as well.

Used to be a lot bigger when I was powerlifting in Germany(golds gym Rhinedahlen) I can just about get both hands round my throat now, something I couldn't do in my prime.

Why??? no seriuosly. why??

arnie looks like a freak in conan.

Imean personal choice and all that, but it's a pretty strange thing to want to do to your body, and pretty unhealthy (short and long term) after watching that documentary on the women body builder, enetering miss universe??

Sorry mate I'm doing the wieghts in between posts in the garage(it's bloody freezing)
I started doing the wieghts when i had a late growth spurt. I was too short to get in the Police (you only had to be 5ft 8!!!) when I was 18 by the time I was 6ft 3 i was 22 and wieghed about 11stone, so I bought Arnold Schwarzenegger's encyclopedia of modern body building.I never took anything illegal(steroids etc).I used 8 raw eggs in four pints of milk each day with meals and a milk drink additive called Wieder crash wieght gain, the eight pack not 6 pack was gained by doing 2sets of 250 sit ups before breakfast, the bottom 2 the hardest to get were obtained by getting a mate to throw a medicine ball at my bladder while I flexed it.The neck was done by hanging my head off the end of a wieght training bench with a wieght training belt hanging from my forehead withb a 20kg wieght hanging from it then doing sets of 10 head raises.(don't relax your neck whilst doing this or it will snap.
I went from 11 stone to a top wieght of 17stone in 18months, I was bench pressing 130kg and squatting and dead lifting 140kg and 160kg respectively. Now I just use the wieghts to keep my shape so i'm down to 15stone 6(100kg)but having seen this film again I feel a comeback coming on.

Should be benching close to 200kgs at that bodyweight and 300kgs for the other two lifts.
I was squatting 200kgs and 150kg bench at a bodyweight of 84kgs.

I used to set for a female miss Universe, German Girl name of Ute, pronounced ooter, she could bench press more than me and she was about 5ft 6, I ended up training at her gym in Hiensberg when she set up on her own.

I know mate thats why I gave it up I started off in the under 100kg event so I was competing against 5ft 12 stone blokes which meant I had to lift 31/2 stone more than them to break even, then when I was over 100kg I was competing against 7ft 30 stone blokes, so I just did the bodybuilding instead.Never competed Because you weren't allowed bodily hair. Those of you on hear that have seen me without my kit on will know that would be a huge problem.

Having (like you dug) been in the forces, I've seen a lot of people lift heavy weights but be terribly unfit.
I like to have a happy medium. I have always lifted weights, some heavy, some with a lot more reps, but in between played a lot of rugby, judo along with all sorts of watersports (No, not those)

I don't find bodybuilding distasteful, but I think that 'big' bodybuilders are not fit in the cardiovascular run after a criminal type 'fit'.

Not sure what I weigh now, probably about 16.5 stone, and still lift the same weights as I did when in my 20's but needless to say can still catch a scrote in full flight...if my knees don't give way from the weights and rugby

On a lighter note, don't bodybuilding competitors have small knobs.
my wife said that.

I know what your saying mate, My last bft(battle fitness test) was 1.5 miles in 9mins 28 secs(not bad for a big bloke)beep test level 14 you know what that is I did it when I applied for west mercia police when I left the RAF.(I failed the final interview),the chief super asked me about capital punishment I said"it's a good thing for IRA and child killers" he said "who should carry it out" I said "the Police" He said "would You consider doing this yourself" I said "of course" Half an hour later I was told to apply again in two years time. I never bothered there's more money in haulage to be honest.
Rugby: In Germany I was a wing forward for station Level and a winger for lower level(16 stone 11 second sprinter)
I've bought a cerby now cos squatting is catching up with my knees as well
You'll have to ask the current wife about the knobs bit though, she did put up with me for nearly 16 years though.
