Was apparently done by someone looking for a job in advertising. VW were very quick to wash their hands of any involvement after the inevitable PC backlash, IIRC

Hang on, I recognise the description on Snopes about the bomb failing to blow the car up, "small but tough". I must have seen it on telly, because otherwise I'd have had to deliberately download a video, and I haven't downloaded any such videos. If it's not a "real" ad, how did it get on the telly?
