Since the new year I've reduced my alcohol intake from about 35 units a week to 10 (or less).

I have to say, it was hard at first but I'm starting to feel a lot better. I've even dropped a belt hole in the last two or three weeks (not that anyone would notice.) As such, I highly recommend it.

Probably down to an average of 12-15 myself. I have to admit I feel healthier but reality is pretty hard work without a few jars.

Zero. Have not drunk anything for years. I am now a bottled water binge drinker.

How many units are in a pint, or a bottle of wine? I normally consume about 10 pints and 4 bottles of wine a week, so whassat?

Cheers,
Rob.

[edit] Googling makes this 52 units, which seems a lot but i'm sure many people double my intake, i won't be losing sleep over it tbh [/edit]

Maybe a couple of glasses of wine a week - maybe one bottle of beer. Doesn't interest me that much TBH.

Unless I'm at a do and not driving then I might have a few, say four?

I prefer food.

Iguess that's about 4 X 6 for wine = 24
10 X 2 for beer = 20

Total (circa) 44 units.

I think the recomended amount for blokes is 3 per day = 21 per week

around 50 units, im a student which partly explains this, and Ive partially moved from ale to vodka and sambouca to avoid the beer gut. I drink about 18 units on a night out, it isnt good but im young so fook it, and i know im not an alcoholic because last year I went a whole month without any alcohol and never craved it.

A guy came into one of my haunts and said to one of the regliers next to me;
"Bloody hell, Gordon Bailey, I haven't seen you for years. Are you an alcoholic now?"
"Alcoholics go to meetings" Observed Gordon; "I'm a drunk."

I've dropped from around 80 units a week to 35 or so over the last year. I'm trying to lose a stone or so to help improve my rockclimbing grade.

If 21 units is the recommended safe level it'll be ok to double it.

I mostly drink about 15 units a week. Unfortunately I go on the odd bender about once per month and then I drink about 80+ units so I prolly average out over the reccomended dosage.

Way way too much.

When I move back to the real world, the alcohol will be strictly limited to weekends.

I have cut out the bottles on wine or other drinks mid-week or drinks on a Sunday. Now restrict myself to Fri/Sat and feel so much better for it.

We have one bottle of wine with Sunday lunch shared with older children - und a wee drinky either Friday/Saturday night depending on plans.

Ist always consumed with food though. Ist not like UK culture where ist drunk solo.... ist part of the good meal at table scene for us.

Other meals - ist water, Elderflower Presse or that Ame/Aqua Libra stuff - und rest ist if we celebrate something special...

so units per week? Average of perhaps two to zero...depending...

I have three or four pints a maximum of four times a week - typically (Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri) - down the pub, hardly ever drink at home, maybe one malt whisky a month - so it ranges from around 24 units (min) to 32 (max)

Hmm. 12-14 units on a Friday night. Nothing in the week.
