Dog being put down today
Discussion
I joked last year about bad things happening to our dogs whilst my parents were away.
Within days of my parents getting back the eldest (the mum) was diagnosed with a terminal cancer and was put down 6 weeks later. The dog we knew had gone but it was still a terrible thing watching her go.
However, there were suspicions that one of the other three at the time was also in trouble. But you don't focus on them when its not obvious and you are watching the first dog pass on. Anyway, what were the chances of two dogs being terminally ill with different things?
Apparently quite high it seems. So within the next hour we will of lost two of our three dogs in 4 months.
As much as I've been level headed about Iddy's condition (he was called Iddy because he was tiny when he was born - he turned into a huge rough collie), this afternoon is the bit where i lose it.
Absolutely gutted.

Sorry to hear that, keep ya chin up and remember all the good times, and that you wouldn't want him to suffer.
Also, there's no shame in having the waterworks afterwards, I had my old dog put down in September and lost it in the waiting room - made me feel a bit better.
I also found getting a new dog fairly soon afterwards helped too.
Have a
or two tonight and remember tomorrow will be better.

I know that feeling, we lost one of our two back in November, one day he's running around like a puppy, next day his back legs have packed up due to his spine giving up.....my poor fiancee had to take him to the vets for the final time without my support as I was 100 miles away at the time.......
Really hope you get through things okay......I try to think of doggy heaven with all the dogs running in a summer meadow, (bit like the dog food advert!)
