New 419 twist!
Discussion
Quite amusing this - I am signed up to a website that amongst other things publicises French horn teachers' details if you are looking for a teacher.
I am on there, and have had a couple of amusing 419 type emails. These people are such cretins!
1. silly capitalisation - check!
2. odd punctuation - check!
3. piss-poor grammar - check!
4. total lack of knowledge of the subject - check!
5. useful information missed out - check!
6. pointless information included - check!
and the all important
7. offer to pay by cheque - check!
Have replied in all innocence not giving my phone number and stating cash only "as you know these cretinous spammers work!"
And as for poor Larry, I hope he was not too disappointed, but the reply-to address was bouncing mail, how unfortunate

Hi,
My name is Larry DeSalvatore, my daughter would be coming for 1 month holiday in the UK and i want her to use the first 2 weeks of her holiday to learn private horn lessons beginning from 24th of January. Could you please provide me with your rates and qualifications and then we can move on from there. I await your quick response as soon as possible, thanks.

Quite! How it would work I have no idea! Even if they "paid in advance by cheque" or something, they get nothing in return, apart from a lesson (which would be amusing if they had no instrument or clue!) - plus I always teach at the student's home!
And if they tried the overpay and you send a cheque back routine - well it's so bizarre in this situation as to be ridiculous, especially if you still haven't met the pupil!
Absolute cretins one and all!
If I get a reply from the second one I might play him along and ask some awkward questions

If you can get a 419 style picture of the scammers holding a sign up with something daft like 'dickhead' on it you will be a PH god...
Keep us informed
nah, if they've got one I might see if I can give them a lesson and charge them for it
Will see if I get a reply, it hasn't bounced back yet!
