I'll be in Brussels on the weekend so would appreciate any suggestions as to decent hotels (with secure parking), restaurants, bars and clubs.

Is there anything else to do apart from drinking the local beers and eating mussels, chips and mayonaise?

Sorry, can't help with the hotel or parking (crap memory). What I have remembered though, it was very cold. I think it must be the wide streets channeling the wind so take lots of warm clothing. If you have time, visit Waterloo and take a hike up the monument (many steps) for the view.

Toison D'Or has some good bars and restaurants, (it's near Avenue Louise).

Would recommend leaving the car a long way from Brussels as all of the drivers are really rubbish and also the road surfaces are terrible.

Hmmm...

Picking up a new car on Saturday and it's on the route back to Blighty. May have to reconsider overnight stop over.

Anyone else recommend somewhere with a bit of life between Cologne and Calais?
