My passport expires soon.
If I send it away to be renewed how long will it take for it to be returned?

Many thanks,

I got mine within 7 working days back in September. I was amazed.

There's a fast track system here in Ireland if you go to the post office. Takes about 3-5 days. Anything like that in the UK?

You can rock up to the passport office in person and do it on the day in the UK.

I couldn't be bothered to take the time off work, so got a nice lady at the Post Office to check and sign my forms and send it off for me. Had it back the next week.

Dub, O/T here but are you still entitled to an Eire passport if born in the North? and would my son be entitled to one as his mother is from County Derry but carries a UK passport even though she is of the left foot persuasion.

To answer your question, I beleive you can go to the local office and wait in a queue.

Ummm...! Being a Dub, I'm not entirely sure. I think you can indeed claim duel citizenship under the Good Friday Agreement. Not entirely sure about your son either.

So 100%, no-help there then! Eric Mc will know
