Its a type of drug called Statins.

They have been in use for a long time in high risk patients and those who've suffered from heart attacks.

Not a miracle and not particularly new...

Have a gander at

No it's relatively dangerous, disrupting nerve signals in the heart, causing seizures due to dopamine excess, etc, etc.

You have to take them regularly, and have to combine them with a healthy diet, low in cholesterol, and saturated fats, and also lead a healthy lifestyle, plenty of exercise, fresh fruit and veg, no smoking etc.....

If all those conditions are met, they can significantly reduce your risk of a coronary event.

If all those conditions are met,

So I guess HMG has allowed in the budget for all NHS patients to have free statins in those circumstances, that will mean about three people then....

They'll only be free if you get free NHS scripts, otherwise the normal £6.50 will apply

Even then the NHS (which you're paying for indirectly) is going to be charged several times that for the drugs.

"Free" is a magic word, but unfortunately almost nothing free really is...

It's heroin that's supposed to be harmless, even with long-term use. It's impurities and the lifestyle that goes with the drug use (being that it's just a tad addictive) that causes the problems.

Heroin/diamorphine suppress the cardio vascular system, leading to suffocation (you will probably be unconcious while this happens). This is the biggest cause of death from heroin. There was some program on tv the other night about it actually.
