So not only do they want us to pay for them, they want us to pay for them every 10 years. And for replacements, its said that you will have to carry them and show them to buy things which means they will get worn out or lost.

I wonder how many MP's have shares in the ID card making company.

Just wait until they reintroduce the ration book ' to help combat global warming'.

Don't know but I'm sure they'll be some non-executive director roles for some when they leave office (lose the next election).

Revelation 13:17 (King James Version)

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

We're all doomed I tell ya....

Yeah but i don't expect to have to produce ID to buy a packet of fags from a corner shop though. What good does that serve, except to allow big brother to monitor every penny i spend?

And have you thought it just might have something to do with the fact that people age so the photo will not look like them after a period of time such as (errmmm...) 10 years?

Unless you pay for everything in cash at the moment they already do via c/card records.
Do people complain about "big brother" UK when it actually helps catching a murderer? Thought not.

Oh well in that case we should all opt for cranial implants that allow the goverment to track us 24/7, i mean, why even consider freedom and liberty if there's the slightest chance someone might get murdered.

Ooohhh, *catch* a murderer, implying they have already murdered. What good is that when they already let them out about 5 years later on good behaviour, early release life sentences.

What good is that when someone is already dead.

Perhaps if we focussed on social problems and getting more police presence that was effective we wouldn't have murderers in the first place!

Solve the problem, not try cure the symptom! Seems to be a Labour trait that. Being f**king useless.

What?!?! Britain is hardly a place where freedom & liberty is restricted.
I just don't get people who keep whittering on about how terrible this country is but do nothing about it apart from moan. If you don't like it then bugger off somewhere else. Or actually try & change things just don't complain all the time, dream up endless conspiracy theories and believe you are actively being watched at every street corner. Get on with life man!

Quite so! And let's have three cheers for the plucky GATSOs who help to catch the vile, pernicious speeders who terrorise Britain's roads.

I have a feeling that cash will become more or less redundant to the common consumer within the next decade. It won't be more than a few years before they put your PIN number on your ID card.

It is being eroded slowly unfortunately.

Writing a flippant comment on some internet forum hardly constitutes doing nothing but whittering on

At the current rate nannying and interference from government, i might just do that one day.

Voting is all i can do, and thats what i did at the last election. Didnt make a difference unfortunately, so my only recourse is to moan every once in a while

Which conspiracy theory? Needing an ID card to purchase goods serves no purpose other than control.

when i pay something using a card, its not big brother that is watching me, its my bank.

the relationship i have with my bank is voluntary and can be cancelled anytime i want.
