Ted - Can we have a new Forum?
Discussion
Called "Politics & pishing" or "Languishing Labour" or "Fascism, Folly & Fun" or "What its like be more right-wing than Atilla the Hun! or similar?
The number of political threads now is reaching preposterous levels.
A seperate forum would allow people to filter them out from the normal, fun P&P nonsense!!

Some of us like both in the same forum.

Most of the threads are easily identifiable by such titles as "Isn't that Prescott a
" and it seems it's what most people on here like to talk about, but if you don't, then don't open the thread....rude girl said:

I would prefer demarcation of existing threads than a new forum, but do agree something needs doing.
Perhaps a selectable "post category"?
Politics
TV / Film
Planes
Whining
Music
Pets
More Whining
etc etc
Then maybe add an option to filter them.
Alternatively add more post icons, but make them a bit bigger, and have extra ones for topics?

Nah....i'm a big P and he's a little p....totally different tribe

What's wrong with people expressing their personal views, that happen to be political in a public forum?; you don't have to partake or agree with them, just ignore them.
I'm with Mr Jag on this one... it's good to have a mix; it should be an open forum. we all have our pet dislikes, we could all think of topics that are less worthy of interest; the blatant sexual 'under the radar' inuendo threads that usually result in someone posting 'girlie/soft porn' imagery for example, I'm not a prude, just find them tedious, probably as much as you find the 'politico' threads in the same manner; besides there are plenty of other 'virtual pubs' around that don't cover politics... have you tried www.nuts.co.uk/
(Before you are anything else, you are a number within one political strata or another, whether you like it or not; that's the way the state has set its stall out. 'politics' pervades and affects all our lives to a lesser or greater degree, but never, ever 0%. Debate is what makes us people, gives us voices and helps to individualise us as best we can in this ever homogonising landscape. That is of course, until the censors decide otherwise...) To suggest that 'politics' has no place in this forum because of the subject matter is to deny 'a debate' that plenty of people want, and are willing to have.)

This is Pistonheads and predominantly about CARS. Perhaps you should join http:www.politicalegospoutingrubbish.com.

That is exactly my point. What are you on about?
I'm with JL and Police State on this one - if we add too many non-motoring forums it won't be much of a motoring website any more, mainly because people won't come on here to talk about cars.
Also, I notice recently that the sort of 'non-serious' threads that have dominated the P&P have been endlessly extruded private jokes that just cause most people other than the few thread contributors to go 'huh?'. Why don't you keep that to MSN?
When the P&P started, it was like a nice country pub or a little independant bar somewhere down a side-street. Now it's like Wetherspoons.
So I say keep all kinds of threads in here. Having said that, I'm sure a 'Politics' forum would do nicely.
