Do company cheques 'expire'

I know I'm gormless for this but I just found a cheque dated 30-12-99 for all of £10
It must be worth about half of what it was back then but can I still put it into my account or does it go in the bin and I put another tick in the 'lessons learnt' box of life?

Banks discretion, but 6 months is their usual limit if not "cheque guarantee carded", which business cheques usually are not.

IIRC cheques have a life of 6 months from the date entered, so I'd guess its a bin job - shame.

Bank it with a bunch of others, you never know your luck. (Until you get a £25 charge for unpaid cheque! )
