The [crime] situation is so bad that in the Jan. 3 edition of Canada's National Post, writer David Frum startled readers by revealing that "Canada's overall crime rate is now 50% higher than the crime rate in the United States." He further noted, "Since the early 1990s, crime rates have dropped in 48 of the 50 states and 80% of American cities. Over that same period, crime rates have risen in six of the 10 Canadian provinces and in seven of Canada's 10 biggest cities."
"While Canada has clamped down on its citizens' gun rights, American citizens have been empowered against criminals by passage concealed carry laws. The disparity in crime rates between the two countries says it all about how well gun registration works to stop crime, as opposed to actually carrying guns to deter criminals, and fight back if necessary."

They already are and most scrotes carry knives which are just as deadly to an unarmed victim.
They were not trying to kill the bloke just give him a good beating for fun!. chances are that if they were caught all they would get is comunity service. Now if they thought the guy was armed and that it would end up in either them killing him (and the chance of a long sentence) or him killing them. I recon they would have let him be.

I care not a jot for the USA or Canada, or anywhere else for that matter. You can't just transpose laws and expect that the results will be the same everywhere..anyway there are still alot more dead bodies per 1000/pop in the U.S. than here.
Our own breed of scrote is a particular type of braindead moron. Daily there are instances of them attacking firemen with stones, other missiles etc. anything they can get their hands on when they attend fires. Give them a gun and they'll use it. Who's going to stop them? Who's going to arrest them? They KNOW the answer is: "no-one". You say "it's a tad unlikely"....... Really?

I care not a jot for the USA or Canada, or anywhere else for that matter. You can't just transpose laws and expect that the results will be the same everywhere..anyway there are still alot more dead bodies per 1000/pop in the U.S. than here.

I would go with the available evidence, both in Canada and the U.K. since guns were banned things got a lot worse. Doesnt mean I am right, but I prefer evidence to speculation when forming an opinion.
And I really doubt that our scrotes are very different from Canadian scrotes, or USA scrotes for that matter.

Banning guns doesnt make any difference and just helps knee jerk politicians to show that they're doing something. 5 shot automatic shotguns were converted to 3 by maggie after hungerford, why?! is 3 dead people really more acceptable than 5 before the killer reloads? Then after Dunblane they tried the same trick, clamping down on honest gun owners so they could be seen to be doing something, then it turned out the laws they had already were fine and the police just hadnt been enforcing them properly in the case of T. Hamilton. Now they want to ban air guns because one Ned in Glasgow shot a wee boy and killed him. Then it turns out the boys agrieved parents were drug dealers and probably contributed indirectly to a whole host of deaths. They shouldn't ban guns just ban stupid and dangerous people from having them and the laws are already there to enforce them. Although air guns should be licensed in some form or another so theyre not quite so easy to get hold of.
