Just did a check and unfortunately I can' do better than the rates I'm currently paying...

My DD is £144.50/Month for dual fuel tariff....we're currently about £100 "in the red" but will obviously swing back in the Summer....

I know that we're not what you'd call "energy conscious" (thermostat must get giddy from Mrs always turning it up, and me turning it down...), but does that sound a lot to people...??

4 Bed detached, double garage.....

Blimey! That sounds like a lot to me! My duel fuel DD comes to £60 a month. I live in a pretty big 2 bed flat, so I guess I have about half the space and half the bill... You don't heat the double garage do you?!

Being a single person my bill is bound to be smaller..
3 bed terrace, heating on all time in winter, tv does overtime, computer equipment on all the time (apart from main pc used occasionaly, laptop is constantly being recharged),
my bill is normally around £55-60 a qtr for electricity and £15 month for gas so averages around the £35 month all in...... a little less than £144!

My last quartelys just came through.

3 bed detached, double garage, 2 persons.

£150 a piece. Seemed like ouch to me but they do level off a lot in the summer.

WWesty - I dn't really know what our bill is - but it seems to be rising regardless.

We have quite a large house, with a lot of exterior lighting in the garden etc. I always used to think of utilities bills as inconsequential, but I have a feeling I am out of date. I recently saw a bill for over £200 on Gas alone - I think I might do some checking...

sounds a lot to me , my house is only a mid sized 3 bed , but pre-war so very inefficient....

I probably use about £50 per month in Gas when its cold ( AND I'm reasonably frugal ) , plus £20 ? in electricity.

I didn't even used to *think* about Gas and Electric bills , BUT I reckon prices have crept to virtually double what they were over the last 2 or 3 years

My utilities bills plus Council tax and water now exceed my mortgage .... shocking !!!
