Splitting up

How do you do it I care enough for the individual that I do not what to hurt her. We are not marred we have no children. We have been together for over 5 years I think it will destroy her.

My ex waited until we had exchanged contracts on a new house we were buying together (24 hours after ), turned around and said "I don't want to be with you anymore".

May I suggest not that method.

If you truly care for her you should try and fix whatever it is that has gone wrong before you just leave.

I am speaking from experience here.

Ask your mates who probably know both you & her rather better than a bunch of anonymous people on the internet. If you don't have any mates, keep logged on...

Whatever you do, it's going to hurt her. To be fair to her you must have a firm backbone, be honest and open, and above all clear. No false promises that she might cling on to. No bullsh!t. Treat her with respect.

If you care for her you will tell her face to face and just be honest.

Common misconception of blokes that women prefer a white lie to let them down gently...not true. Honesty always best policy...unless you've been stokin other fires!!!

Hi,

Tried talking, unfortunately it seams that we want different things from life I.e. I don’t want children and don’t feel like getting marred for a good while yet. I just don’t want to hurt her.

Yeah face to face is definitely the best way. My ex did it by text and instant messenger several times (I, being a fool, went running back for more), so when I told her enough was enough I did it to her face.

Failing that, change yer name, move house and get a new mobile number...

If not you really should have something lined up first.

I think you're telling the wrong people here. You know her - not us. You talk to her. I'm sure you know her well enough by now to know how to approach her.
