Sharm el Sheikh
Discussion
A mate of mine just got back from S el S and had a cracking time. It's a bit touristy and there's not a great deal to see, but he managed to get drunk every night quite successfully and said there was a lot of international talent.
I reckon you should go to Italy though. Anywhere in Italy - it's amazing.

The missus and I went to Sharm in November and it was plenty warm enough even then. We only went for a week so didn't have time to go to Cairo and see the Pyramids etc but we had a superb week of doing very little. You have to go snorkelling, even if you don't think it will interest you, give it a try.
The people are very friendly, everything is cheap and you're guaranteed sun - what was the question again?! We've already booked to go back in November (10 days this time though.)

Bl00dy hot in July but it's dry so should be OK. Snorkelling / diving is a must do. The markets are full of vendors that will pester the life out of you. Tummy bug is to be expected but drinking bottled water may help. Quad biking over the dunes is fun if you choose the right vendor, there is a quad bike / kart track there that may be worth a look. Sharm is a long way from the pyramids so that may not be an option. Don't drive yourself; you'll understand why when you get there. Taxis are very cheap but you should take advice from your hotel staff as to how much to pay. For taxi's you declare the price, not the taxi driver. Don't shake hands with anyone. It's not considered polite, the left hand is for eating, the right hand is for wiping your bottom so shaking hands is definitely to be avoided. Probably worth paying a visit to the Hard Rock Café.
With just a simple underwatercam you can make some nice piccies of fish you wouldn't believe . . . the food is OK but there are cockroaches everywhere. Our squashed ones were moved by giant ants. David Attenborough anyone?
The cramps after 4 days but all clean a few days later . . .
Take a cameltour: I stayed in the Sinai desert for a week and loved it to bits. Info at taxi's is the best resource. They look like cheaters but honesty is the best policy. Look in their eyes . . . it's so easy.

If you just want a beach you may as well go to ibiza.
I'd advise off peak! It was 40c now and then even off peak. Cairo, the museum, inside the pyramids and valley of the kings in Luxor are an absolute must. Only stay in te new hotels. We were in a new Hilton which was good, and an old Hilton which was a shocking hole in the ground. Aside from the culture, the rest of the country is pretty dirty and full of beggars. Looks like Iraq. My girlfriend hated it.
