Just looking at booking a few days away there. Anyone been?
Good points/bad points? Places to go?

Any recommendations welcomed.

well if you're into planes, there looks to be quite a museum at the airport (just by looking on google earth.).

Our company does property developments in Latvia and Estonia, based around Riga & Tallin respectively, PM me direct if you want info on hotels and the like.

Don't worry about temperatures...it was -45oC in Tallin (Estonia) the other day.

Went back in 97 with work. Probably changed alot since then. Really nice place, but it was August when I went. Stayed at the Hotel de Rome, which was v. nice. It was allegedly the best hotel in the city centre. It was the only place that would take AMEX back then, so company policy meant we had to stay there!. People very friendly.

We stayed at the Reval Latvia hotel.
Great service and had just been refurbished when we went (2 years ago).

We were there on a stag w/e.

People are very friendly and speak English.
Watch out for the Russians - you can identify them by their spoken English being poor.
