Clearly Stupid People on TV - Entertaining or Irritating?

However she is very entertaining because of how stupid she is…

Should clearly dumb people be allowed on TV or should someone help them form their own network?

Is their a fine line between, I'd slap you in the face you annoying fool and you're so thick but you make me smile entertaining?

I think it just fuels the 'chav society' that you don't have to work hard to earn money, that whole 'z' list celeb reality TV thing has a lot to answer for, thick as but hey it doesn't matter I can leave school and become famous get some bling, sorted

Even so, I find that Celebrity Big Brother has invaded my life by some obscene form of osmosis .... my only question is this:

It was Celebrity Big Brother, and she was the only one who wasn't a 'celebrity'? She won? Does this say anything about the people who went into the damn house?

Did you see Graham Norton last night. Chantelle sat and basically swayed around in a bemused stupour as Ruby Wax laid into her and Graham took sideways snipes (in a friendly gay way) at her??? I found it quite uncomfortable to watch.

Im not sure whether it was her apparent dullness or their cruelty which was upsetting me though

I don't find stupid, ignorant, self centred, celebrity obsessed, rude, uncouth people interesting.

I find them endlessly depressing.

Why we have to have these kinds of lowest common denominators endlessly paraded on our televisions is simply an indication of the paucity of quality ideas and programming within our increasingly "chav" media.

By the same token, American TV is now producing the highest quality products and showing just how poor our home grown material has become.

A total reversal of form. Who'd have thought it? (Well me actually, which is why I moved away from broadcast TV years ago...)

I only watched/read the very end of the show/ph thread, so didnt have to put up with much, but I liked her. She's a good person. Smiles a lot. Thats good enough for me. Its not like Im married to her, which might be a bit too ohmygod.
