Falling asleep nicely
Discussion
I think you might be.
Try using a 'continental quilt' instead of a blanket it might help, especially seeing as you're from the continent.
Half my family are Dutch and one thing I notice when staying with them is how hard all the beds are - like sleeping on a plank of wood. Perhaps a softer bed will help you feel safe.

Ah, I actually have a 'continental quilt' (we call it 'dekbed' which is actually a very strange word).
I just didn't know it was called that way...
And our mattresses are indeed rather firm. Next bed will be a waterbed.
no position feels comfortable to me I usually toss and turn every 5 mins until eventually I fall asleep. Unless I'm really tired in which case the first position I fall into, normally head facing up, I find this the most restful sleeping position anyway, other positions and the quality of sleep isn't a good.

Err... Maybe this sounds a bit strange...
When I go to sleep I lie on my right side and like to cover my left ear with the blanket.
Feels very comfortable and somehow 'safe'.
Am I the only one with strange 'falling-asleep-behavior'?
Do you pull your knees up to your chest aswell?chances are this is your feotal(sp)position and you probaby had a hand or arm up covering your ear when you were in the womb.

What's a womb?
Where phoetus's (sp?) (little unborn babies) are in the mother till they are born.
sorry, I didn't mean that to sound patronising, just trying to explain it...
Thanks!
Actually I pull up my knees a little, so could very well be that it has something to do with my position in the womb...

Digressing, but the mention of "Ear", if I tickle the inside of my cats left ear, she starts to lick her left paw, and wash her face. If I tickle her right one, she licks her right paw and washes her face.................and no I do not want to try tickling her anywhere else thank you......
Sleep wise I have slept on my left side for as long as I can remember.....
