its gonna be 15 years this year.....so I think I might have to make a bit of an effort....

So....where....???

We both think we would like to do the Amalfi Coast (Bologna aside I've not been to Italy)...but is it over-rated?

Looking for somewhere that's warm, with good food, a bit special...and, being realistic, it'll probably need a few shops too....

Answers on a postcard please....

Amalfi is lovely - great weather from May-Oct.

Not sure the shopping is too good though - maybe in Sorrento (and of course especially in Capri!)

We went for our 10th anniversary earlier last year.
Had an excellent time.
Stayed just outside Sorrento.
Goto Caruso's restaurant in Sorrento if you get chance...wonderful place.
Amalfi is really nice too.
And the road between the two is stunning.
Only slightly spoiled by the Diesel Mondeo Hirecar not being a Muira.

Assuming it's your own wife your taking, then Venice. Everyone should visit Venice at least once.

We went to Bruges for my wife's birfday a coupla years ago. That was at the start of June. nice weather. Took the Eurostar. Lovely architecture and nice for walks and stuff. You coud also look at some of the destinatoins that Easyjet & Ryanair fly to - save some money using them for cheap airfares and use the saved money for a smarter hotel...?

aaaaahhhhhhhhh memories back to the 15th anniversary.

we went to Paris for the weekend but our anniversary is in August so the weather was lovely, not sure about february though.
Plenty of shops etc, boat trip and meal on the river seine, romantic (apparently), Eiffel Tower (o.k if you like heights)
Arc De Triumph (a must for driving fun )
Great fun practising all the french that i hadn't used since my school days, i told everyone there was no use for me doing french as i'd never go there and then 20 years later i'm trying to ask a Gendarme where the nearest toilet is (very funny but you had to be there really)
well it will be 19 years for us in August so i'll be after suggestions (i was thinking of celebrating a month earlier and taking mrs hood to "back home"
Glyn.

You can't really go wrong with the Italian lakes, Como etc.

It will be hellishly hot at that time of the year, but one of the most romantic cities I know (lived there for a while, been back a few times with g/f since) is Seville in Spain.

Paris is good...but cold at this time of year.

Hemsby could be an ideal alternative
