Paper Mill, its gone now (about 3-4 years ago it was demolished). Sad story really, the mill was super efficient and returning a healthy profit, but apparently the company that owned it also owned some loss making mills elsewhere around the country. They stripped it (sold the machinery to SE Asia), knocked it down, then built houses on the land.
Dunno who'd want to live on land contaminated by a paper mill, and 100 years before that a dye factory.

So, we have to spot six differences to win a free ticket to 'Seventies World' theme park.
1. The building on the right just above the corrigated roof has moved.
2. The cyclist on the left at the end of the fence has gone.
3. One of the roof vents on the big building in the background has gone.
4. Your big sister will "Scream and scream and scream" until she's sick.
5. Your Mums wearing your bedroom curtains.
6. Yes, dog shit really was white in them days.

Just to prove I've always liked Black BMWs
had loads of cars as a kid, remember these VW beetle things that I would take a run up and literally drift with full opposite lock around the smooth tiled L shaped verandah, could hold a great slide and there was the added bonus of going over the edge and having a spectacular crash onto the grass. Would spend hours having competitions with my brothers from best drift and best crash, I must have worn out something like 5 of those damn things
Great fun, somethings don't change though the toys get a bit bigger

Somewhere there's a pic of me in my pedal car from the 60s... it was built from sheet steel with solid rubber tyres, and if I drove it off the kerb I had to fetch my dad to lift it back up for me...!
If you still had it now it would be fetching thousands in good original nick.
Sadly all me Dinky cars have long since departed

Yeah I know! I bet my dad has kicked himself ever since it was binned...
Probably not as much as when the '59 Mercedes he swapped in 1971 for a Ford Zephyr, that at the time was just regarded as 'an old car', was later valued at up to £48000, more than his house at the time
I remember I had an Aluminum air plane pedal thingy. All the kids in the neighborhood would gather on Sat,and race down our block. It was perfect because we lived on a hill.I think back and I laugh,There were pedal cars, trains, trucks and some home made soapbox specials. The ones with ropes to steer and handbrakes that came off in your hand, and of course my plane.I'll never foget how I felt going down the hill at a blazeing 10 mph.I felt like I was Sterling Moss. Some things you never Forget.
