For a year or more, when writing an adert to sell something on eBay, I'd get a little box with a simple choice of fonts styles, sizes, colour and sizes to choose from.

Now it seems I have to learn HTML and do that all myself. Have eBay decided to go back in time and make things harder for people, or do I need to change some settings at my end?

Are you logged in through the US or UK site? It can make a difference as to what they show you as the default. There should be a tab above where you write the description where you can choose to write in HTML or with the text editor.

Whilst I do know HTML to a reasonable standard, the way I always do eBay ads is to write them in Word, replete with fancy colours and bolding, save the document as a web page, open it in Notepad then copy and paste all the code into eBay.

Easy as you like!

UK, as always. No tab I can see. It's like the easy version never existed.

Download Turbo Lister from the ebay site - far easier.

It allows you to compose your ads on the desktop (even with no internet connection) & saves your listings so you can sell the same item at different times or tweak a previous ad to suit a new item.

I've seen ebay go all rubbish and html a few times when I've been having a look for junk. It had a message at the top something like "The new appearance is to improve search times and general performance" when I refresh again it's back to being ebay.

I wonder if what your seeing is anyother way to "speed up" the site whilst making the experience rubbish!
