Just been watching a documentary about this. Why do people still believe there was a conspiracy!!!

Unfortunately the Oliver Stone film has clouded peoples' judgement on this.
If there was a conspiracy you would think after 40 years something would come to light.

If there was a conspiracy, you could expect never to hear anything about it, depending on who did it.

But I agree, the Stone film, although good, will cloud people's judgements.

Well I believe that JFK was assassinated because he knew too much about Area 51 (Roswell). Equally, when he said he wanted a man on the moon by the end of the 1960's he didn't know that it would all take place in a TV studio - so they shot him from the grassy gnowl.

A fine two-hour documentary on the Discovery Channel recently debunked the whole second assassin myth. They did it with pure science and analysis. The bullet often derided for supposedly travelling through Kennedy, then altering its trajectory down and doubling back to hit the governor in the wrist sitting in the front seat, actually was one bullet The answer is, as it always is in these matters, a simple one. The bullet passed through Kennedy hitting a rib, got deflected downwards, lost momentum, and passed through the governors wrist. It did not need to do a U'turn. His seat was more to the left than two dimenional 8mm film of the tragedy can show. Once that is proven all conspiracies go out the window ... except one.

Did the Miafia take their revenge on the president for renaging on his promise not to hound them for racketeering and murder after they helped rig the vote for him in one critical state? They almost certainly shot Robert Kennedy when he took up the crusade. His assassin, too was also conveniently "wacked." I guess we will never know the answer to that one.

Still ignores the fact that in the time the bullets were fired, one man couldn't have operated a bolt-action rifle fast enough to get them all away...

LA, you don't mean to imply that a family like the Kennedys, brought to prominence through moonshine bootlegging money, would get whacked for renigging on the Mafia...do you?
On a serious note, the only quasi-credible angle I have seen on the "second shooter" was where he may have been in the street level storm drain. It had tunnels for underground escape and would account for the upward angle of the bullet. Have you heard that bit; it was late-breaking relative to other theories?

I wish they'd called you in on the investigation, Srebbe. The ease with which you tie up the loose threads is impressive.

Yep, it was relayed to me by magnetic forces when I was meditating in a crop circle!

These Discovery/History ch. progs are all abit out of date and factually inaccurate, there was a very good BBC2 Gavin Esler? doc. about this recently which showed that Oswald had enough time to get the 4 shots away and that the magic bullet was quite possible when you take into account that the 'dickieseat' that the governor was in was lower than Kennedy's seat and more towards the centre of the limo. Still didn't really answer why Oswald did it, so it could still have been a mafia/cia hit or even a coup, convenient that Oswald was killed before he was tried though? The BBC2 prog. did suggest that it is very hard for us to believe that Kennedy was just killed by a nutcase rather than a more complicated conspiracy. I personally think that its about 50/50 that it was just a fruitcase killing, although the coup D'etat thing can be argued quite well.

I don't know if it's the same documentary that others have referred to. But Gavin Esler of the BBC did one a few years ago, and on it a gun expert in his 80s easily fires off three rounds in time Oswald apparently did it.

I guess even the BBC are in on the conspiracy

3 shots in approx. 8 seconds

Easy with a magazine-loaded bolt action rifle.

The thing that did it for me was the home movie (zapruder film) that showed him moving back and to the left when hit with the fatal head shot, thereby implying that shooter was in front of him!! Apparently when the government did the investigation in the 70's they reversed that section of the film to have him moving forwards when hit with the shot! Sounds a bit fishy to me!!

Perhaps because, as Bill Hicks so eloquently put it, "Back & to the left, back & to the left". A basic grasp of physics would suggest to most people that at least one bullet must have come from forward and to the right - an area that some people have referred to as "The Grassy Knoll"
Or perhaps it's the fifty-odd people who swore they heard a shot from that same Grassy Knoll.
