Hot Crosses On Buns Offend?
Discussion
In today's "Express" we have a daft story...
*Andrea Perry reports
It seems that a head teacher of a primary school in Suffolk has banned "hot cross buns" from school in case it offend a religious minority
It seem the headteacher of an Ipswich primary ist worrying lest the buns offend some Jehovah Witness children who allegedly regard Easter as Pagan ritual. This of course follows other similar nonsenses und local vicar ist horrified:
"All religions have traditions, habits und customs und the hot cross bun ist a century old tradition."
Ja .. ist right... the bun ist supposed to be eaten on Good Friday which mark the Crucifixion of Christ und the Cross ist to symbolise this und ist also marking the end of Lent period as well. I would agree that ist a bit early for the Hot Cross Bun ...but even so .. ist a CAKE und I could argue that ist form of decoration to make it easy to cut into portions ....
As for it offending JWs ... Easter ist one thing they do agree on und they do recognise it in their worshippings - as do have acquaintance who follow this form of faith (und she ist not a nutter ... nice lady und perfectly entitled to worship God in whatever way she choose to so long as she does not start bringing God into every conversation...und she has learned to talk cars with us
Speedy matters!
)
But we have had the Christmas cards, Carols, Decorations und so on taken from our children on this pee cee nonsense.
Ist it me? But I am thinking that ist very condescending to assume those practising an alternative religion are offended by matters and cultures Christian ...und this political correctness ist appearing like the New Spanish Inquisition und reign of Bloody Mary where to utter something which the thought police disapprove ist likely to have even more serious repercussiona than driving 1 mph above a lolly....

and the rest.... (copied from another website, but so true)
It's not a blackboard, its a chalkboard.
It's not a manhole, its an access hatch.
It's not a prostitute, it's a person who sells themself as a commodity allotment within a business doctrine.
It's not political correctness, it's cultural sensitivity.
It's not a homosexual, it's a person of alternative sexual tastes.
It's not an alcoholic, it's a substance-abuse survivor.
It's not a shoplifter, it's a non-traditional customer.
