Swim race cancelled due to shark

The Stupid thing about this is that they stopped the race because they could see the shark ,,,,,, what do they think that they are only a danger when you can see them they are there all the fricking time they live there, and its when you cant see them like when they are below you that they are most dangerous

its one thing to not see the shark because its underwater, it would be quite another thing if the race continued after the organisers had seen the shark. what would happen if someone had a chunk taken out of them by the shark - could you imagine the organisers position?

Sure but just swimming in these waters is open to big risk from shark attack so any open water swim meet is risky
