In the last few days:

The incitement to religious hatred bill is overturned
Nick Griffin and accomplice are released
Mohamed Cartoons cause outrage
Fundamentalists go mad as badgers
Iran invites holocaust cartoons
Abu Hamza is found guilty

Is it my imagination, or is it weird that all of these things seemed to have come together in the period of just a few days?

And one particular religion at that. Why is this religion constantly in the newspapers and TV when a few years ago you heard hardly anything of it.

Why do these fanatics feel the need to flog their religion to everyone. I dont go banging on to them about the correct wheel size for a BMW E30 because they are not interested, likewise

I'm certainly sick of hearing about it in a bad light.

Blimey! I thought we'd got past all that "mine is better than yours so I'm going to stomp your butts" long ago. We haven't. Very sad.

Goes to show though: No matter how good a set of ethical or spiritual beliefs some can manage to twist 'em to meet some hidden agenda they've got.

Moses: Killing people is bad. Don't do it.
Nutter: God is on our side.

just out of curiosity, and as a former owner of an e30 bmw, what is the correct wheel size for an e30 bmw?

And to answer the original poster... What is happening is that the world is finally going completely insane.

but he didn't actually put up any argument.....he just bluffed them off as nutters.

my argument is that ALL this shit and virtually ALL wars are caused BY religion.....and this is historically recognised

I am quite sure that if religion didn't exist at all, the same nutters who hijack it now would find another outlet equally as divisive and potentially devastating, nutters are nutters, whether religion is in the equation or not, we will always have them…..

I think a good start would be a universal education system, totally unbiased toward any culture, teaching basic rights and wrongs, including respect wouldn't go amiss. (bit too Utopian though!)
