OOh OOh The Aeron chair! We have these at work and they are great too! very comfortable for 12-18 hrs at a time. Well worth the £1000 each that they cost! THey have lasted for 5 years being used 24 hrs a day. Much better than the cheaper $400 office chairs we used to buy which last about 6 months max.
I never realised I was a Chairaholic!

Heathens, it was a brilliant programme. A good selection of interviews too.
But then I am a bit obsessed with design.
have you been to the design museum near ldn bridge? theres some lovely pieces in there. i did some work there last year and it was really inspiring. they also have an exploded diagram of an e type jag, thats actually an e type jag, rather than a drawing. great stuff.
i had the pleasure of meeting the now habitat guvnor and chair guru last year, (who incidentally, also invented the worlds first and best selling dildo as sculpture and function) and he was the funniest bloke Ive ever met. anyone that can upset 60 teachers in the first 40 seconds of a meeting is OK by me.
Yeah, the Design Museum is good, though I hoped it would be a bit bigger. I've met a few chair designers and they're all mad as brushes. It's fascinating how they percieve things though; there's so much more to good design than just making something look pretty. In many cases the beauty is merely incidental.
Well now we've established we have a few chair anoraks here, what are our favourites? With pictures please. And no cheating.

Just waiting for my favourite, the Eames chair. I would love a couple of these for my lounge but don't want to spend £2k on a single chair at the mo!
Look around, a friend of mine has one of these, he payed about £500 for it (his wife's an architect mind, so she knew where to look).

Oh God, do not even think about buying stuff from them. Incompetence in the extreme. Since August I've had to store two chairs I didn't order, be short of two chairs I have paid for, and store a smashed Noguchi table. And their customer service is risible. I got so worked up the MD got involved, promised the world, and months later...I still have the bloody things. I threatened the MD with Trading Standards and he basically told me to feck off.

You. Rule.
Do you mean Sir Terence of Conran ? Many years ago I had the pleasure of meeting ex or soon to be ex boss of The Design Museum, the thorny, but lovely Alice Rawsthorn. So I also rule.
Best Chair Eva ? Gerrit Rietvelt's Red/Blue chair.
