So I know it’s unlikely but if we did have a worldwide economic recession what would be the best course of action to take as far as maintaining living standards?

Obviously the key elements to survival would be: Clean water, Food and Shelter. All of these are relatively easy to obtain providing you have productive land but what about the other things like light, heating, electricity and a fuel to run a vehicle? How would we be self-sufficient in these areas?

Just an interesting little “what if…” scenario or useful reference in case of future events, no harm in being prepared.

You need a gun, tins of food, water purification tablets and small denomination gold & silver coins.

Think Mel Gibson in Mad Max three and Kevin Cosner in Waterworld ( although admittedly that was a bit shite )

Oh that reminds me you'll need a pig farm to generate methane to power your gas turbined TVR.
