Whitehall officials have told council chiefs the May 2007 polls they are considering cancelling the polls to allow a shake-up of local government.

Why can't they do this in the first year of their next tenure, assuming they get in again?

It's a bit like planning permission at present down south........

Local Council 'No Mr Big Business Builder Man you can only build 300 house's on that site'

Mr Big Builder Business Man'Time to call in the favours for our labour donation's'

Office of Fatty Prescott'Of course you can build 650 of them Mr Big Business Builder. Its down south so they'll all be able to pay nice fat taxes to sustain the monster we've created'

You couldn't make it up.
It's the same as usual for the jumped up shop stewards, no thought for the infrastructure, roads, schooling, health etc ........feckin fat toosseer knut.... ad infinitum

I saw this on the news. It makes my blood boil I can't believe it's almost slipped out of the P&P without discussion. How on earth are they legally allowed to remove our democratic right to vote? Surely we can have a revolution now

A bigger story is the reorganisation itself, which, like much of Labour's constitutional reforms, seems political motivated, to target Tory controlled councils.

thats why the Government want to add Fluoride to our water supplies, the Nazis used it to good effect in WW2 in the Prison camps as it was known to make the Prisoners comply by "dumbing them down", have we all been "dumbed down" now?

Fluoride is after all classed as a Poison second only to Mercury in it's Toxicity

I rest my case
