I have been watching the programme on late nights this week on ch4.

It is about mid/late single thirty something women in their quest to have children as time runs out.

I have a really loud ticking biological clock that is driving me mad. Although I would love to have a child, I can't see that I will be in an ideal relationship in time, which makes me sad.

Do men worry about being too old to have children, or just enjoy being kids? (as we know you guys never grow up...lol)

As blokes have a longer 'shelflife' so to speak and could be the father a lot later in life, I think its more down to being young enough to enjoy watching your kids growing up.

I'd be looking to settle down and have children in my early 30s. Old enough to have had a good life and young enough to enjoy having kids around

I'm 30 and am wanting to have kids relatively soon.

Just need to find someone who will have them with me, rather than run a mile when they see my horrible fissog

Profile says you live in Moscow. Surely the ladies are throwing themselves at you out there?

Ooops, that's a bit out of date. They were, but I was in work about 18 hours a day so never got the chance to meet up with any (no, not a single one) of the numerous blind dates with allegedly gorgeous Russian girls which my mates tried to set up. Only made it to the pub about four times in the 9 months I was there.

Anyway, bit of a thread hijack

You'll find the noise from that particular clock quietens downas you get a little older. Having children is a fine thing and parents tell me they really enjoy it. Having nephews and nieces (and many "honorary" ones) I can see that. Not having children is ALSO a fine thing. Plenty of time to yourself or yourselves to engage with your interests, ease of travel, no costs etc etc. Both are perfectly good ways to live your life.

So if the opportunity arises and you have youngsters - brilliant. But don't let the noise from that clock down out all the joy and happiness there is in life for the taking should the opportunity not arise. You will be getting a fair deal.

No. Not in general. They worry about having them at all - not the age at which they have them.
