Just a quick question, I've got some water stains come through the kitchen ceiling (bathroom floor) from a leak ages ago. The ceiling and walls are emulsioned, what do I paint the stains with to seal them, so they don't "come back through" when the new coat of emulsion has dried?

Its all bone dry now.

you can get proper stain blocker paint, which is a bit dear, or you can just use an oil based paint over the stain, then your emulsion as normal.

Seconded but best to use something with a low sheen to it like silk finish or a primer as standard gloss is a pain to cover with emulsion.

Next question: Why when I'm combing one of my cats does she start eating the coily wire from the handset of my telephone? Only when being combed!

??? Because cats understand the physics of this??

Any reason why my cat chooses to eat tinsel (but only at Christmas) ?

(and before anyone else says, its not tinselitis )
