A former dustman who won almost £10m on the National Lottery was today jailed for nine months for affray.

Michael Carroll, 22, and three friends caused havoc when they burst into a Christian rock concert in Downham Market, in May 2004.

Norwich Crown Court heard two young people needed hospital treatment, while others prayed for their lives, after the youths, two with baseball bats, ran amok.

Carroll and his 24-year-old friend David Howard, 24, pleaded guilty to affray last month.

Howard's brother Paul, 19, admitted the charge at an earlier hearing and was jailed for six months.

Last month the court heard the trio, armed with the bats, invaded the concert after two teenage girls they knew had been in a row outside the town hall.

The girls, who cannot be named, each admitted a charge of threatening behaviour.

He'll be able to make some nice new friends..

Judge Peter Jacobs sentenced Carroll to nine months in prison and David Howard to 18 months, nine months for the affray and nine months for handling a stolen JCB.

That creased me up who on earth nicks a JCB.

Also on Look East Carrol admitted blowing £1,200,000 on coke for him and his friends.

Honestly some people. He had every chance to turn his life around and get the respect back. It just shows that people are what they are.
I just hope in 20 years time when it has all run out and he is sitting in some pd soaked doorway with some yob spitting at him.

What an utter waste of a life....... Seeya

I agree, nothing to do with the green eyed monster, it's shows that no matter how much mooney you can throw at certain types of people, they're still the same, must be one on the eye for the 'Well, little Billie's never really had the chance to be anything other than what he is, let's throw tax-payers money at the problem to fix it' types..................

you can forgive a gormless idiot a lot of things, rich or poor, but...

A Christian rock concert ???

he's a coward too, I imagine he would think twice, and then a lot more before turning up at his 'dealers' with a baseball bat.

Whenever the gormless 's name crops up in conversation,
'Yeah but he's rich now'
nearly always follows rapidly.

To me, the fact he has/had a lot of money,
and subsequently squandered it on crap,
reinforces my comprehension of the chav-ists

as being children in sweetshop.

aside from the fact I never got to see his lights being punched out on telly last year.
his incarceration is indeed good news
