I'm in the US at the moment, and watched I am Legend yesterday. Its the new Will Smith movie that is out on Boxing Day. It is a great thriller/Horror movie. I went with my 13 yr old son (Its PG-13 in the US) and he had his head down through almost half of the film (a little scared, but would not admit it). It is worth a watch when it comes out!

Was looking this up earlier; don't think its a vampire flick. And didn't realise its the third film version of the book ....I've never seen the Vincent Price one, or the Charlton Heston version - but I am looking forward to this quite a lot

I don't remember the other versions, although I may have seen them while I was younger. This was more zombie type - but the attacks were really quite intense (I jumped in my seat a couple of times). The first half was pretty good at portraying the feeling of isolation and latterly desperation. Its too early to go into details, I don't want to spoil it for other who want to see it.
Really fecking annoying that this film has not had a global release. Instead we'll have to wait until Boxing Day to watch it, which is a PITA as I hate watching films with stupid smelly cretinous oafs munching through popcorn and sending text messages while whispering to oneanother through the entire

ARGH! don't waste your money. If you must see it - wait til DVD. I went after reading the book, which is fantastic, so I didn't expect the movie to live up to it, but I thought it would be passably decent.
It's not. It's shit. Even if it had a passing resemblence to the book (which it doesn't), it would have been bad. They completely ignore the few twists that could have made it interesting to allow the typical Will Smith movie to flood through.
If you'd go to 'Will Smith kills Zombies' then you may be interested in this movie. If you're going to 'I am Legend'... don't bother.

I hope not, the only reason I could see for them to use the title is to get people like me who had read (and liked) the book to come and see it. The others must have involved mermaids to be less related.Gary
