Hello and Happy Christmas.

Does anyone know what this toaster is and where I can buy one?

Also, on the subject of toasters, have a look at this uber cool one which isn't being made yet..

Ha, wait until the lid mechanism jams and you're forced to smell your toast being burnt to a cinder and can't rescue it...

Aha, my parents (who this is for) are quite capable of burning toast without an auto lid! biggrin

Thank god for that - my toaster is plagued by dust.

It's got to be better than the rubbish, uneven, Duralit we've got. A toaster which is capable of buring one bit of the bread and leaving another raw on the same side.

The Morphy Richards looks good, but most of my wife's Christmas presents are things which have been on The Gadget Show.

If you want one of those Morphy Richards toasters, you'd better be quick. It's not listed on Morphy Richards website, and Freemans are saying it's no longer available.

Dualit?

Overlarge, expensive, not fit for purpose, pointless status symbol. Toaster equivalent of a Chelsea tractor.

OP: All very well with a standard slice of bread. But what about when you've cut yourself a doorstep at 3.30am and it needs a bit of 'help' descending into the mechanism? All very pretty, but totally impractical.

Got one - its ok, BUT, if you put another piece of bread in straight after the first lot it will allways burn this one.

Obviously becuase the first time you put the bread in and switch it on it has to heat up, so , so long as you turn the time down for any subsequent slices then you will be fine - dont know if this is the case for all toasters ????
