Couldn't smell it by doing the breathing into cupped hand. Pulled my t-shirt up over my mouth and nose and...

Missus reckons best way to test own breath is to lick the back of your hand (?)

Best cures for rotting carcass breath?

Also can sometimes be caused by sinusitus...do you sniff a lot?

Seriously though, I get real dogs breath if I don't brush between my teeth, as I have over crowded teeth and food jams in the gaps and a normal toothbrush won't get it out. I have little skinny brushes that shove between each tooth. Sometimes, if I don't do it for a few days, I'll pull the little brush out and it absolutely reeks.

Brilliant things for cleaning out between your teeth & much easier to use than floss. The blue ones are about joe-average size but you could get some red ones if you think you have small gaps between your teeth.

Run one of these between your back teeth & then smell it & you'll know where yr bad breath is coming from!

Good mouthwash will help too.

I use floss,mouth wash and brush my teeth but i still need to do something to give my gums a lift,i've found the older i get the more attention they need and they still get wiffy now and then

Pesty is correct. Of course you have to get the rotting food out, but most of the time, if it's seriously bad and chronic, you have a bacterial infection at the back of your tongue. Medicated mouthwash (and sometimes, stronger meds) will clear it up.

That is what I use. Our medic at work told me it is about the best you can get, gives a 'balanced' dosage of chemicals to the mouth, not too strong, and it allows the required germs to survive.
