Need to charge my car battery - car hasn't been out since last week of September!

Got a Halfrauds battery charger, it has two settings - 'sealed' or 'standard'.

How do I know the difference? It's a Bosch Silver circa 1 year old.

Sealed batteries are useally those Sealed lead acids used for things like alarm system backup and the like and have to be more carefully charged heres a good article explaing that.

I think if your charging a normal non sealed car battery, you would use the standard setting as car batteries can take far more abuse regarding voltage there charged with.

If your battery has several plugs in the top that you can unscrew to see the electrolyte level, then you have a standard battery. Undo them, and choose "standard" on the charger.

If you doesn't, you have a sealed battery, so you should choose "sealed".

The difference is that a sealed battery must be charged more slowly.
