Due to a lack of time and C4's crappy scheduling, amongst other things, I have never really had the chance to 'get into' The Sopranos.

However, I now have each and every episode in my possession, ready to watch over the next few weeks/months.

So my question is - is it as good as the critics all say?

The best series ever to come out of America! You have to watch it carefully though as it can be slightly confusing at times but it combines everything I look for in a programme; sex, violence, drama, good music and swearing! smile

The Pine Barrens (sp?) episode in series 1 is the best one!

HBO produce the best TV drama on the planet:

Six Feet Under
The Wire
The Sopranos

.. are all just bloody amazing TV.

I watched the final episode of the Sopranos last year. Now it's all over I'm seriously considering watching the whole thing all over again from the very beginning.

Oh, and the 'Pine Barrens' episode was in Season 3 IIRC

Good?!
Good?!?!?
I'd love to be in your position to watch them all again from scratch not knowing what is gonna happen.
Along with the West Wing (save the anti-liberal bleating, it's boring) this is the finest thing to come out of the US since MASH.
Genius.

You can add Curb Your Enthusiasm to that list...

Deadwood too. Lovejoy as an 1870's saloon owner was an inspired bit of casting!

I'm exactly the same, having never really got into it originally, I've now bought the box set and currently on the second disc of series two. At this point in I think it's exceptional tv and now we've always got something to watch. Bada-ing- bing

If we are talking American series I prefer "The Unit", "Californication", "Jericho" "NCIS". UK stuff "Doc Martin", "William and Mary", "Jonathan Creek", "Lovejoy", "Teachers"(Andrew Lincoln phase), "Strange", "Afterlife". Enough for you???

I'm on episode 4 of series 5 of this, the best TV drama. Ever. A friend of ours got me the boxset recently....
The only downside to this being because you don't have to wait until next week like any other jamook you tend to just watch one addictive episode after the other - till 3 in the morning sometimes with gabagool on your lap and your goomar by your side....
Its driving me oobatz to think that after series six thats it....
Salut !

Seems like I'm not the only one embarking on the Sopranos voyage.

Did you all get the boxsets for Christmas or something?
