I might have a job based in Hounslow soon, was wondering what it was like? I currently live in Hertfordshire so I'm guessing it will be more expensive in Hounslow. I've also heard its quite dodgy?

It is great if you like curry, aeroplanes, chavs and depressing views.

It is a booming place because of its proximity to Heathrow. I wouldn't want to bring up kids there but there are far worse places in the world. Lots of council housing and ex council housing, so in the future it should get better as more people own more of there properties.

Seriously though, Curry world, awesome takeaway. Even came round once to my mates flat when he hadn't ordered from them in a week ( he was ill )they were worried so the delivery driver came round to check if everything was ok, they came round with a free curry soup thing as the guys mum said it would help his flu !. That and the fact you have two drive through MacDonalds right by you on the same road and one is 24 hour.

I live round the corner from it and it's an absolute hole. The traffic around the high street is horrendous as well.

Vile. I was looking at houses in a general area that side of London. One of them was in Hounlsow and by the time I had driven through it, found the house and pulled up outside I had seen more than enough. Turned round and drove away again.

Have you seen that other thread about training cats to use the toilet?

Well cats in Hounslow can't fail to crap in a toilet unless they unwittingly stray beyond the boundaries of the borough.

Spent all day yesterday in a high rise office block on the Great West Road near Hounslow. Not the most inspiring of places, I have to say - but cracking views of air traffic on approach to Runway 27R.

For the record,

Whilst you may have spelt Hounslow correctly, it's pronounced "aanslow"

and yes agree it is a stole. smile
