ok, the Sky news website has now been updated.

Can't say I'm that shocked to be honest, been wondering why they have held onto Shannon since they found her. Obviously the investigation has been going far deeper...

Not surprised here either. Was she ever returned to the family home?

No surprise there then!

With Shannon not back with her parents, it was always abundently clear there was more to this than meets the eye.

Wouldn't surprise me to hear that the Uncle of the step dad was actually protecting her from him - i.e. she did a runner and he stupidly took her in instead of going to the police.

Otherwise it beggers belief that the poice would withold a previously kidnapped daughter from her mother.

Fair enough, as we discovered this week Big Rupert has no fear of libel.

So that explains a lot then. Poor kid, no wonder they don't want to give her back to the 'parents'.

And talking about them.......

Her stepfather has been arrested for suspected downloading of child porn.

Maybe the uncle was trying to protect her. A lot more to come out of this I suspect.

I suspect it may just be that the computers were interrogated as part of the investigation to find the little girl, and as they did that, they also happened upon the step father's nasty little habit at the same time.

It might be that the two things are entirely unrelated.

Hmmmm, 'indecent images' doesnt always mean child porn. Could just be 'family' snaps that have been interpreted badly by police looking to nail someone.

Its a very wierd case, but it makes me wonder how come, what 2 months (or more) after this all kicked off, its taken the police this long to examine someones computer? He doesnt appear to me to be an IT genius who could have fooled the police by using some kind of method of hiding stuff like this.

The police record on this kind of case over the past few years has seemed to me to be very suspect. They suddenly 'find' child porn when other areas of investigation seem to dry up. That asian guy they shot, the police officer involved in the Soham case, and other recent cases.
