Just been made redundant

Hi All,
Dont know why i am telling you all this - maybe because i am still in shock but this morning at work i was called in at 9:30 and told that they have to let 1 of the 4 of us go and because they cant choose between us they have decided on me because i was the last one into the copmany so first out.
I am gutted - i know times are hard (solicitors / conveyancing department) and they have let a few other people go over the last month or so but i was not expecting this. I have never been happy in my other jobs but this one was it, this was my job that i wanted to stay in for a good few years but now that is all messed up.
They will pay me for 3 months and i shall continue to work for another month but WOW - not expecting that at all. So i am now job hunting in the hope something might turn up!

Always a horrible shock to the system, horrible. 
However, it's now time to pull your socks up, polish up that CV, and get yourself another job sharpish. See if you can do it so that you start in a months time when you leave this one, then you can pocket two months extra salary

I just cant believe it and because we are all women working in the room we were all crying which made it 100% worse however they have let me take the rest of the day off. They are being very nice about it but it still doesnt make it any less upsetting. Being only 22 and being made redundant is not something i was expecting.

Being 22, though, youthful resilience will allow you to pick yourself up and get straight back on the horse as it were.Edited by Mrs NucSquash on Friday 30th May 12:37
It's never nice leaving a job you like whether you finally decide to knock it on the head or they do...
...but in a month or two you will be in a new job...particularly if you can be flexible about the work you do. If your current industry ain't doing so great perhaps another similar one so your skills transfer would be something to try.

Could be wrong though since it is a firm of solicitors but then again Noah was an amateur- the titanic was built by professionals .
