My 2 year old Rottie ran out into the road today and was fatally wounded. Never thought I'd cry over a pet, how wrong was I!!

The old lady in her Honda Jazz made this statement as I laid there holding him " I saw him running up the road before I ran him over ".......................

makes it sound as though she did it on purpose! maybe she stole the merc badge that was mentioned in another thread to use as a target...

Surely if you see a potential hazard you slow down.

How horrible for you. Bloody old people. If she saw him, she should have put her foot on the brake.

Couldn't her statement read as "yes I saw him, but by the time I braked, there wasn't enough time, and I ran over him?" frown

Horrible thing to happen. Poor dog has had his eye on that fence/hedge/gate for two years and once it was big enough it only took a few seconds for it to find out why it was there.

I know nothing of domestic animal husbandry so can't pass judgement on your level of responsibility.

this is gutting whatever.

It can be more distressing than losing a relative apparently.

Sorry to hear of your loss, similar thing happened to my cat a couple of years ago.

You have my sympathy. Don't take any notice of the pr**ks on here, they only post because they can't get an erection.

Maybe if they drove a sports car and not a Honda Jazz (same as Fit here), the braking power of the car could have saved this dog's life frown

Is there a reason this thread has attracted more bottom feeders than usual?

pieinmouth, joined yesterday and hopefully banned today. His posts on this thread have been removed. As have mine and audidoody's suggesting where he could go.

I had a tidy up, as there were posts which broke PH posting rules and were quite frankly totally inappropriate and tasteless.

Paoloh - really sorry to hear of your loss.

Hey P,

really sorry mate. frown
Know how you feel.. I lost my boxer 'Louie' last week after a long hard fight against cancer.

He was a fantastic dog as I'm sure your lad was too, think of the good times you had.

I balled my eyes out when Louie was put to sleep while I held him, more so than when my mum died last year. Sounds horrible but I was so attached to that little chap. weeping
