If you won the lottery would you still work?

Following on from a discussion in the office, some guys are saying they would get bored and would want to work. I on the other hand am never bored at home and always manage to entertain myself with something.

But what would you do?

I'm talking big money too enough to live very comfortably for the rest of your life.

I'd be bored out of my mind if I didn't work. Might not stick with the same job though, dunno.

Yes, I'd work, but not doing what I do now. Not sure what I'd do and pretty sure I wouldn't work full time.

Yes, but probably not in the same field. With a nice double rollover in the bank I would be able to work for the job rather than the paycheck.

I think I'd still do something, I dont dislike what I do at the moment, but would probably get sacked. Why have a salesman working for you that doesnt need the money

At my age with mates about ect, there would be few things better than living as you want.

I have been for the last three weeks and its great.

I would still work yes, i would be bored out of my brain, but the perk of it would be that i choose when i work and dont, therefore could race any weekend i want etc, and only do the better bits of my job rather than be stuck doing all the crap aswell

I would be bored stupid, I'd take a few months off and do lots of exciting stuff them either work for the place I do now but for less hours doing something fun, and possibly for free.

The rest of my time I would find a hobby I liked and build a small business round it. If I had enough to live comfortably and the business broke even it would be a result.

Yes, but I would do something that I am passionate about and enjoy rather than making sure I have the best possible salary for the job I am doing

Nope, although I'd be working on ways to increase my wealth, researching investments etc.

Possibly start a business, but wouldn't have a 'job' as such.

Anyone who wins the jackpot and continues with the daily grind as before should be shot as they're clearly too dull to be allowed to continue to live.

Everything you want to do in life is restricted by 2 main things money and time, you put your life into work to be able to afford the life you desire, to the point that you don't have the time to do those things and life ends up being one continuous frustration. Being financially free must be like heaven.

Yes i would. I would cut down on my hours, perhaps only do 2-3 shifts a week and less nights and weekends offcourse, but i would still go to work. I'm still young and i love my job so wouldn't want to sit home beeing bored all day.

I'd set up my own business doing something I actually enjoy. If it doesn't work out who cares as I'd have won the lottery

Not really, apart from the obvious spending on tasty machines I'd also buy a few classic wrecks and learn how to restore them from top to bottom.

I'd also spend more time and money on the sport I love most, which is a 7 day a week commitment anyway.

I would own a company, employ competent managers and my work would consist of meeting new clients at corporate race days etc

Or i might just travel around the world buying and selling container loads of goods for my own amusement but if it makes a profit too, that would be nice..

It's a wonder I'm still in work WITHOUT winning the lottery!

As for boredom - give me a decent workshop and I could keep myself free of boredom for eternity. Work gets in the way of enough of them as it is.

Depends whether it's a big enough win to live as you are now or big enough to continually travel, do new and adventurous things - these can get expensive.

I'd keep working to keep myself sane. Not where i work now though, i'd try and start a business of my own.
