Any PH'ers doing Tough Guy this Sunday? I'm bricking it, having seen photos of the January event, clips on youtube and the Guardian article:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/theguardian/2008/jan/29/...

Wish me luck...

How ironic is it that this looks like the hardest most manly thing you could possibly do, and yet when before I read that article I assumed "tough guy 2008" was some kind of gay ball or similar.
Terrible name for such a hard event.

Good luck anyway. You are definitely stronger than me.

I think (hope!) it's not actually as hard core as it sounds- the first run is apparently 4 miles or so, which isn't too far but contains a horrible zig-zag up and down a pretty steep hill at 30 deg or so- it's the 'Killing fields' which will wear people down.

Hey, at least it's not going to be as bad as the one in January when the water is bloody near freezing...

You're not the person I thought I knew.

He drank beer and ate food.

I blame Aliens. Anal probes and stuff.

I should be a lot drier than January. Enjoy it and don't kill yourself in the first run smile

Well, I finished it- 3hrs 39mins of torture. I agree with this ^^^ guy, glad I did it- but never again!

Was easily mid- 20's C yesterday, properly hot! Being a first-time entrant, we started nearly at the back and there were masses of people waiting to do the slalom course so held up for easily 20 mins or so.
