Make me feel better about the fact I spend around £100 a month on fuel to get to/from work.

What do you spend and what is an 'acceptable' amount in proportion to your montly salary?

£100 - is that all - £25 per week?

you're lucky!

I now spend nothing as I run a business from home but when working my commute was £200 per week so £800 a month. Do you feel better?

I am so glad I dont have to buy a London udnerground monthly ticket (or traisn in general) - paying through the nose AND having to sit in such st conditions!

I think the time of the commute is more important (although I'm sure if you are using a car then two are linked).

Anything over half an hour, rush hour traffic (one way) would twist my melon!

Unless it was half an hour walk or bike ride.

Does driving 1.1 miles to work every day win me the 'laziest fecker of the year' award?

Somwehere in the £250 - £300 per month range, plus the weekends as necessary. Not quite the worst but not ideal either.
Proportion of salary - that would be telling wink

£375-£400 / 1/3

Ouch. Upside is, everytime I drive home i have a mini hoon on the 32 miles back home, so it's bearable smile

its not that bad... £1100 a year gets me zones 1,2,3 and full use of everything (bus, tube, dlr and trains) so actually very cheap.

I live on the Isle of Wight at the weekends and in Cheltenham for work during the week. Weekly fuel and ferries comes to around £150 just for the commute.

£0, my work is a 15 min walk away and I walk in everyday, beats the 100 mile a day commute I had to do 2 years ago!

I think I must be at around 150-200 a month. Costs me around £65 to fill up and that could last 2-4 weeks depending if I go for a hoon or not

Until not that long ago, my monthly fuel bill was £900. For a few few weeks it was £400 per week. I had a fuel card, it made that much more bearable.

£41.50 a week for a 7 day travelcard on Oyster, not bad really as I can use it to go anywhere in zones 1-5 all week.

For me, nothing at all. All I have to do is walk the 5 yards or so to my works van and it's fuel card! Which I am thankful for each and every day, as I can drive the van like I stole it every where. hehe
The other half however has a 12 mile journey and puts about £180 of fuel in her 330i a month, although that does cover non work driving too, so not too bad really.

About $8 a week on a 125cc bike - with about a 6 mile round trip each day.
