Too.
Damn.
Right.
New neighbours were heard to moan about the church bells of late - were promptly told to shut up by all present. Church has been there for 800 years, not going to silence it now. As for the bunch that sued Alton Towers having just moved into the village..... grrrr.....

Not sure it does cover race curcuits quite frankly.
Most race curcuits have been around for donkeys years. They used to get used on mostly summer weekends for organised racing, with a few days a year testing etc. Several hours use on a test day by usually 3 or 4 cars.
Most of them are now used by track day companies and experiance outfits, and often their use has multiplied expoentionally from their use over the last 50-60 years with the introduction of track days and expereiance days. This is oftern throughout the week, also evenings and weekends. Summer, spring, autumn and evensometimes winter.
I know for instance that Castle Coombe has a long heritage in motor racing, but is set in a quite area of countryside. In the last 10 years use of the curcuit has multiplied way over its 'historical' recorded use.
I love track days and think people should be allowed free use of tracks to keep them off the public road where possible, but I also feel for those people that bought a home where the track was used 20-30 days a year on organised spectator based racing to now being used 120-150 days a year by 'boys with their toys'.
It would be fair to be balanced in support of this.
Those that move near heathrow and gatwick, stansted and luton and then complain however need their heads punching.

Note line in petition regarding increase in activity. If you have lived near Heathrow, as I have, for over 16 years and accepted the noise, including the late lamented Concorde. You would have noticed that they have in the last four years, begun landing at 04.30. I believe it's fair to moan about that. Most race curcuits have been around for donkeys years. On the matter of increase in activity I'm afraid that I'm in the camp that believes that they are more liable to increase than not. I don't have much sympathy especially for those that move next one of the worlds busiest airport's and hope it will not expand.
Even if they tell you, after Terminal 5, they are not going to. Don't believe they are many on PH who support liars.Gassing Station | The Pie & Piston Archive | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
