He thinks he is st hot and wants £50,000 investment.

If he is as good as he says why can't he get a sponser?

hehe I loved his quote "Jensen Button is no better then me"......

Quite clearly he is rolleyes. One of them has a a mega yacht moored in Monaco, more beaver than he can wave a stick at & sponsors clamouring to be associated with his name. The other is wearing a blank Nomex suit trying to get £50k

In comparison at the same stages of their careers in Formula Ford.

I love how he quoted Senna, Mansell and Damon Hill as examples of Driver's who made their name in F Ford.

Senna...had a Millionaire father.

Mansell... mortgaged himself to the hilt and sold everything he had.

Hill..Worked as a Labourer & Courier and started off racing bikes then worked his way up.

None of them went begging to a bunch of Entrpreneurs on a TV show to get money.

Don't let the truth get in the way of a good mis-quote frown

'a mega yacht moored in Monaco, more beaver than he can wave a stick at & sponsors clamouring to be associated with his name' and he still never wins anything!

These new 'cable tie' things look a load of crap too!

i agree with what the first bloke said "not strong enough"

They are no were near as strong as cable ties, so what use is it?

plenty if the use isn't based on strength... like tidying up lots of cables...
also bearing in mind the things were broken by pulling on them rather than trying push out from the inside...

It was a bit mad this evening, carl_w and myself went to Uni with Andy Harsley (Cable Tie Man). He hasn't changed much, save for shorter hair, but good luck to him. Rock On!

ETA;

Patent? I'm sure I've seen that somewhere before. Nice idea anyhow. The simplest are always the best.

Perhaps cable ties are currently overengineered in the strength stakes.

Lots of use. Especially for things like: Tying Cables together.

Nothing I hate more than anything is chopping off and picking off tonnes of waste cable tie.

Exactly what the guy demonstrated it as: You don't use the bloody things to hang yourself off your nearest RSJ rolleyes

I like Theo, but he was being a bit of an arse there - and Jame and Duncan have a cracking product.

Theo is a cock and will invariably try and break the product.

Yes, they will be fine for your cables under your desk, but i don't think they would be much use on site, because they would not be strong enough, even if you are only tidying the cables up.

Any way, what ever we think we will never agree, but will find out if they make it big time or not.

Re the cable ties I thought the reason they had flexibility was because they are currently aimed at the horticultural market and that is what they where asking for (it gives the plant chance to grow without the tie cutting into the stem for those not so green fingered )

I thought that for what it was aimed at it was a good idea although not sure losing 50% of the company was that great a deal

Hey, he was always patenting stuff even then. Dragon's Den is BBC2 right? So should be on the iPlayer?

I think it might be. I looked at the bbc site to find the name of his product, which I hopelessly forgot. I found it, so I guess the truth is out there. FWIW, it's the last interview in the programme.

ETA;

I'm having a deja-vu moment because I'm certain that I've seen this before. I have half a feeling that he might have had this idea some time ago.

You mean millipede cable ties? A quick google for 'Harsley Cable Tie' worked for me. You know that another alumni, Bo Amlani (who incidentally worked in Hockerill post office with my wife many years ago), is running a Garden Centre?

Edit: you might be right about deja vu. I seem to recall similar in some drunken conversations in Andy's room.
